The food is on point. Like seriously I would spend all my money here. The sushi is perfection, I had lobster Kristina and it was amaze balls. The Pina colada creme brulee will make you cry. I can't wait to return here.

This food was delicious. Crab cake is a must get appetizer with a combination of flavors that will leave you wanting more. You also cannot go wrong with any combination of sushi options. The fish and chips are cooked to perfection, but the blackened shrimp tacos were an explosion to my taste buds in every bite. But that’s not all, do you like a nice cocktail? The spicy pineapple margarita will be sure to tickle your fancy. For dessert? The ice cream of special is perfect. This one pictured shows Oreos with chocolate chunks and a caramel martini with shavings of ice that only make the flavor pop. Would definitely recommend

Incredible! They seated us by the window (beautiful), attentive service, brought up extra bread for our pasta sauce. Lobster spaghetti is 100/10, shrimp burger 100/10. Big fans of everything! Prices very reasonable as well!

The staff were great. The appetizers were awesome. My lobster was really good, but for 40 some bucks I could have gotten a really good steak. My sides were so so, but I didn’t get to them until they were cold. My wife’s haddock, shrimp and scallops were really good. We made a reservation because we had 6 people in our party. I asked for a table by the windows overlooking the water and they obliged. Parking was right across the street, but it was pricey. Basically $10 an hour. Their drinks were decent.

Nice waterfront location, with Maine just across. The lobster rolls were delicious; I liked the traditional (cold) one better that the hotel one. Our waitress Abbie was amazing, super attentive and helpful. A great lunch break on our way north.

Pricey but beautiful location and excellent food and service! Definitely worth a stop. Parking is a pain but if you park further away with street parking or even find a free spot, everything is walkable in Portsmouth, and this is worth an endcap to the night. Food comes in good sizeable portions, presented well, and delicious. Yes, the entrees are kinda pricey, but so far they've all been really good. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. And the view if you get a window seat is great of the open bay. I think this is one of those rare places that I actually liked everything on the menu (so far)! Dragon shrimp, Lobster Kristina, lobster fries, salmon, sushi (dynamite, smoked Philly, Hula Dancer), Mexican shrimp and crab stack, Chourico braised mussels (comes in a delightful mildly-spicy tomato-based broth with chorizo). They use Pink Stripe oysters for their raw bar, which has a mild sweetness and salinity. Blood Mary oyster shooter is def cute and fun. Drinks are good strength but have a lot of ice that eventually waters down. Even both my parents - one who is picky and is a chicken-tender, plain plate kinda guy, and the other who is picky, opinionated, and will send plates back unapologetically - like Surf! No reservations about it! UPDATE: Still great, still delicious. Overheard that someone thought this was one of the best sushi places in NH... and that seems about right. Tammy was great!

Great restaurant on the water in downtown Portsmouth! It gets pretty busy but well worth the wait, not unreasonable. The service is friendly, efficient, and effective. John and Jake were spot on. As far as the food, Fried green tomato and bacon salad is a favorite that we split. The baked seafood triple came out pipping hot and tasty - shrimp, haddock, and scallops w/ mashed and brocoli. Another favorite is the Korean BBQ scallops, they ordered them on two occasions. The crab cake is very tasty also. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

We loved The Surf! Our server, Jake (from state farm) was charming, funny, and great at making menu recommendations. My lobster was to die for as well as my sushi roll. Everyone loved their food and our only regret is that we didn’t have time to go again while on our trip!

Tucked in the beautiful historic district, you can eat phenomenal sea food looking at the harbor. The seared tune was absolutely perfect, fresh delicious tuna, sashimi quality, on wasabi mashed potatoes and a tomari sauce and seared broccoli, really perfect ... The raw oysters were phenomenal, I would have gotten more of they were less expensive, $4 each, my husband said that the gluten free New England clam chowder was the best he's ever had, I took a taste and it was wonderful, and then he got the Portuguese fish stew which was "great" really delicious ... I can't wait to return here!! BTW our waitress is amazing, so knowledgeable, Tammy from Nashua, she was extremely helpful in our ordering, so friendly! The atmosphere is .. well, a bit silly, but I can forgive it because the water view and food is so amazing ..
